The resident teacher, Venerable Sayalay Daw Bhaddamanikā, has trained under the Venerable Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa of Burma for many years. She practiced intensive meditation under the guidance of Sayadaw U Pandita at the age of 19 while attending the Rangoon Arts and Science University, Burma. Her meditation retreats mainly at the Mahasi Sasana Yeiktha, Yangon were guided by Sayadaw U Pandita, Sayadaw U Samvara, Sayadaw U Pannadipa (Beelin Sayadaw) and Sayadaw U Silacara.

She resigned from her teaching career for 12 years at the Zoology Department, Yangon University in 1998 and ordained as a nun in 1999 February at the inauguration of the Panditarama Lumbini International Vipassana Meditation Center. Her benefactor is Sayadaw U Pandita. Since the winter season of 2000, Sayalay Daw Bhaddamanika has joined interviewing meditators for part time and in 2007 as a full time.

Besides various responsibilities in co-operating the meditation center, she also participate in the UNESCO projects for strengthening the conservation and management of Lumbini, the Birthplace of The Buddha, the World Heritage Site, and the sites in the Greater Lumbini Area, Nepal Terai, which are related to the life and history of the Buddha.

Sayalay Bhaddamanika also wrote articles relating to the Buddha’s Teachings on Peace for the publications of Lumbini Buddhist University, Lumbini Development Trust, and Shanti Deep magazine, etc.
